The flat-wavy relief of Sul de Minas makes it suitable for the mechanization of many processes. Nutrient-rich soil, summers that include abundant rainfall, and winters that proffer a moisture-free cold contribute to a high-level of productivity. Sul de Minas claimed the top-scoring coffee in the 2020 Cup of Excellence (95.18 pts).
This lot underwent an anaerobic fermentation process (no oxygen), sealed in a barrel with a one-way air valve that releases remaining pressure and oxygen.
MArcio
Márcio is the son and grandson of women who harvested coffee. He spent part of his childhood vacations accompanying his mother in the coffee fields, where his interest in coffee cultivation began to emerge amidst what he considered fun. When he started his education and, thanks to the opportunities provided by his father, attended good schools, he realized that education was the way forward. He earned a degree in accounting, pursued postgraduate studies in Organizational Psychology, People Management, and Coffee Cultivation, as well as a master's degree in administration. He even taught at a university, but he realized he wanted to have his own school, and he made it happen! After a few years with the school already established and stabilized, he invited his brother to what he considered the realization of a dream: buying a coffee farm. With the knowledge they already had, they established the plantations and structured everything that is now Fazenda Cetec.
Marcelo
Marcelo Lima Verde brought his background as an engineer and entrepreneur to coffee farming, and established himself as a versatile and successful producer. With a degree in electronic engineering from ITA and a career in the educational sector, Marcelo brought an innovative spirit and optimized processes to Fazenda Kaizen, applying his extensive business experience to the coffee farming universe. Today, alongside his son Guilherme who resides on the farm, they form a team focused on regenerative and sustainable solutions for the development of high-performance coffee farming. Since taking over Fazenda Kaizen in 2012, Marcelo has implemented a strategic vision based on efficiency and continuous improvement. Kaizen is a Japanese word meaning "continuous improvement." The Kaizen concept values the constant pursuit of enhancement, even in the most modest changes. The farm has not only adopted regenerative agricultural practices, but has also become a model of success, standing out for its environmental commitment and innovation.
